Software NI: The new name for The Software Alliance Northern Ireland

The Software Alliance Northern Ireland, the leading industry voice and body for the region's £1.7Bn software sector, today unveiled its new name: Software NI. The rebranding reinforces the organisation's mission to act as a single voice at the intersection of industry and policymakers, to represent the common interests of the sector, and to promote Northern Ireland as a global hub for software engineering excellence.

"Our new name, Software NI, better represents our focus on accelerating the growth of this vibrant industry on the world stage," said David Crozier CBE, CEO of Software NI. "With nearly 100 member companies, we are committed to developing the talent pool, facilitating connections, and creating opportunities that will allow our regional software cluster to lead and compete globally." 

Software NI also announced that Aislinn Rice, Managing Director of Analytics Engines, has joined its Board of Directors. "I'm delighted to join the Software NI Board at this exciting time," said Aislinn. "The software sector is pivotal to Northern Ireland's economic future. Rebranding as Software NI positions us for exponential impact through fostering entrepreneurship, attracting investment and developing top engineering talent."

The organisation will continue to advocate for the industry and work with key stakeholders in government, education and academia to create the right conditions to build the software workforce pipeline and increase the economic impact of the industry in the region. Software NI will continue to offer programmes such as TechTeach and FoundersForge, provide support to help local firms access new markets and clients, and host networking events and an annual conference focused on industry development.

Northern Ireland's £1.7Bn software sector employs over 22,000 people and is one of the region's most vibrant and fastest-growing industries. Major employers and Software NI members include industry leaders Kainos, Allstate, Version 1, Aflac, FinTrU, Modern Democracy and a thriving community of innovative startups.
